UniCopilot (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) is an academic productivity application designed to help students manage courses, assignments, exams, grades, study plans, documents, calendar events, notifications, and AI-assisted academic workflows.

1. Information We Collect

• Account information, such as your email address.
• Academic information you enter, including courses, assignments, exams, grades, schedules, events, and study plans.
• Documents and files you upload, including PDFs and other supported academic materials.
• Text extracted from uploaded documents.
• AI-generated analysis, summaries, extracted academic information, and assistant conversations.
• Notification preferences and reminder settings.
• Technical information necessary for authentication, security, service operation, and error handling.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Create and manage your account.
• Store and organize your academic information.
• Process uploaded academic documents.
• Generate AI-assisted summaries, document analysis, and answers based on your uploaded materials.
• Create study plans and calendar entries.
• Send account verification, password reset, and other service-related emails.
• Schedule local notifications and reminders.
• Maintain the security, reliability, and functionality of the app.

3. AI Processing

UniCopilot may use artificial intelligence services to analyze documents and answer questions. Depending on the feature, text extracted from your uploaded materials may be sent to an AI service provider for processing. AI-generated results may contain errors, and users should verify important academic information before relying on it.

4. Uploaded Documents

Uploaded documents may be stored so that they can be processed and accessed through your account. Text may be extracted from these files for document analysis, academic information extraction, and AI-assisted questions. When you delete a file, related records may also be deleted in accordance with the app’s data deletion process.

5. Third-Party Service Providers

UniCopilot uses third-party infrastructure and services, which may include Supabase for authentication, database, storage and backend services; Resend for transactional email delivery; and Anthropic for certain AI-powered features.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell personal information or share it with advertisers. Information is shared with service providers only when necessary to operate the application and provide requested features.

7. Data Security

We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect user information, including authentication, access controls, database security policies, and encrypted network communication. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

8. Data Retention

Information is retained for as long as necessary to provide the service or until you delete the relevant information or your account, subject to legal or technical requirements.

9. Your Choices and Rights

• Access your information.
• Correct information you have entered.
• Delete individual academic records or uploaded files.
• Export certain account data.
• Delete AI-extracted information.
• Delete your account and associated data.

10. Email Communications

UniCopilot may send transactional emails such as email verification codes, password reset messages, and security-related account messages. These are service communications and not marketing emails.

11. Notifications

UniCopilot may schedule notifications for exams, assignments, events, and study sessions. Notification permissions are controlled by your device settings, and notification preferences can also be managed within the app.

12. Children

UniCopilot is intended for users who are legally permitted to use the service under applicable laws. Where required by law, users below the applicable minimum age should use the service only with appropriate parental or guardian authorization.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When changes are made, the “Last updated” date will be revised.
